Names and Addresses

1.Are feelings emotions and facial expressions universal across borders, happy, sad, etc..?

When I felt happy, I become a smily.
And I express with body when deeply moved.
Maybe I think that most Japanese do it this way.
However American speaks with gesture anytime.

2. Try to name as many feelings as possible in Japanese. ( 10 minimum) Now write the English translation.

  1. hesitate 躊躇する
  2. annoy 困る
  3. sorrow 悲しみ
  4. excite 興奮する
  5. fun 楽しい
  6. disgusting 腹が立つ
  7. hard  辛い
  8. like 好き
  9. miss 寂しい
  10. happy 嬉しい

3. Are there any feelings in Japanese that cannot be translated into English?

  • ムカツク
There is not the good English for “ムカツク”.

I think so, too. American speaks with gesture anytime. They have a big gesture.

We don't use gestures in conversations.
